Spring runways offer a peak into our style future, and this season was no different. Hidden amongst the trend for deconstructed textures, disheveled elegance, and beach waves we saw another emerging movement: the illusion of loose side-swept bangs, often pinned behind the ear in a wanton way. Pinning the front of the hair close to the ear gives the chimera of a side bang, which means it is especially useful for women who don’t want to commit to cutting their hair short, but like having the versatility to adopt different looks.

Linda, the fearlessly fashionable blogger for Saucy Glossie, adds wow factor with this inspirational look. The big, wide, curvaceous and volumized ‘C’ shaped cascades show the potential to create magic with a classic and sophisticated round brush blowdry. We love the shiny raven color, the dramatic root lift, and the gorgeous tousle and flow. Be sure to keep hair in tip-top shape if you want it to look as lustrous as this.

Olivia Palermo’s center-part and side-braid captures this season’s new zeitgeist. From the runways to the streets to the celebs on the beach, we are seeing much more disheveled elegance this season. Whether it’s beach waves, tousled textures, ombre colors, or rolled-out-of-bed looks, the theme is lived-in, deconstructed, frayed. Only months ago, Olivia’s center-part would be slicked to the head, and a perfectly smooth pony would accent the back. Fast forward to today and the style is deliberately pulled apart into a chic yet unkempt look. Keep your style perfectly imperfect to be on trend this spring.
