It doesn’t get much more retro than to imitate the finger wave wearing flappers of the 1920s gilded age. Katherine Heigl does it brilliantly. Elegant, feminine, classy this style reminds us of the era of Jean Harlow and Ginger Rogers. It’s great for special occasions; and for when you want to be different from the crowd. Here’s a different way to wear long hair! By marrying a sleek texture on top to a tousled texture down below, Megan’s look, with the hair away from the face, has the feel of a nighttime updo, while retaining an on-trend, billowing cloud of wave in the back –– so sexy! Another benefit of slicking hair back: it creates the illusion of lifting up cheekbones and chin, lips and eyes. For almost every girl, these are the prettiest features, so any chance to elevate them you get, take it!
