We love the ever-changing style of British model turned actress, Agyness Deyn –– it’s easy to understand Vogue Paris’s declaration, which makes her one of the top thirty models of the naughties. She is dazzlingly versatile and yet unexpectedly distinct. Although her hair is usually above the shoulder, the shape fluctuates from sleek bob to tousled pixie; her color ranges from charcoal to platinum. She has a youthful, evocative quality that comes through in her photos, setting her apart from her less demonstrative peers –– it is no wonder that she is moving into acting. Agyness’s fashion choices evoke numerous eras and cultures and we have yet to see a look she couldn’t wear. Miss Deyn inspires us to explore, to expand our horizons, to realize that a real fashion icon can wear any style, but never lets the style wear her.

Oh Britney! We remember you as the starry-eyed princess of pop, trendsetting and go-getting. Fast-forward a decade and it feels like she’s playing catch up. After a spring and summer of pastel-gelato highs and dip-dyes, we go back one more time as Spears jumps on board with mermaid tones of turquoise and green, accented with wisps of hot pink. Surprise, surprise, she’s wearing colored extensions. This is a great way to test the water if you are thinking of changing tones, but don’t want to commit. For Britney, it’s nice to see her looking fun and flirty, carefree and happy –– she was always more brassy than classy, so for her, the ‘do is a perfect fit!

This ethereal aquamarine evokes mermaids and other aquatic creatures. Vibrant turquoise is diffused with tiny strips of creamy blonde, creating a trompe l’oeil crimped effect. The crisp bowl-shaped outline is broken up by the addition of disconnected tendrils. Venture your own version of this fantasy look by putting random longer strands into a bob, adding feathery crimped texture, or trying sea foam green in your tresses.
