This tumbling updo looks perfectly effortless. The loose sweep of the sides, the off kilter shape, and the stray ends give the look an appealing, natural quality. It’s hard to believe that something so loose and contemporary could be related to the classic French twist, but the two are constructed in a surprisingly similar way. The futuristic spread in the latest issue of Allure is stark, glistening.  Leather-clad model Maryna wears a sleek white and magenta bob and matching pink brows. The hairstyle has an extraordinary, manga-like aesthetic when worn smooth with a side part, and is even more arresting when pulled into a crimson-edged beehive. The cold, metallic lighting and surreal domestic environs emphasize the contrasting yellow panel of the dress, the gleaming gold of a statement necklace, and the shiny bits of hardware on patent leather jackets. The real focus of these photos, though, is the modish, vivid hairstyle. We’ve seen a lot of pink ends on blondes locks lately, but this extreme version takes the look from familiar to show-stopping. We are loving all the creative hair color choices we’ve seen in fashion magazines, on pinterest, on bloggers and in street style photos lately. There is a new trend emerging that marries ombre and dip dying techniques to create a washed out look. In the above photo the soft and lush colors fade and blend harmoniously into each other. Dark purple roots fade into a lighter purple with a white blonde area in the middle, and light teal follows the hair down into a new shade. What do you think about this look? If you’re loving this look as much as we are, take a look at our article about purple dip dyed hair for more color inspiration.
