meg ryan

With the –– ahem –– sound of faking it Meg Ryan went to the Hollywood A-list. Over time, she’s become less visible, yet we’re still inspired by her signature tousled take on the bob. Great for anyone with hair from chin-to-shoulder length, the beachy, rumpled style fits the perfectly imperfect aesthetic of the modern era. Even with dead straight hair, it’s easy to add this kind of texture to your spring and summer looks. For easy-to-follow tips, click style notes.  Click for StyleNotes →

It’s March 1st; budding spring trends will soon be on their way. Canadian fashion retailer La Chateau gave us a sign of what’s to come with this colorful Garden Party Campaign. Hinting at a floral season for fashion, it tells us bright and vivid hair hues with multi-dimensional depth and dimension will continue to be part of the fashion and beauty landscape in spring and summer. Take inspiration from the definition and contrast in the hues and shades of the model’s ensembles; their piquant punch can be creatively added to modern hair colors. Recently, top stylists from across America gathered in New York for a photo-shoot organized by ARROJO. During the shoot, Lindsay Welsh, stylist at Darrell Barrett Salon, created this avant-garde yet wearable upstyle, inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s delicious old-world ‘dos. We just love the contrast between the sleek roots, swept up to the occipital bone, and the messy, deconstructed, swooshing top. Lindsay was kind enough to send us detailed instructions on fashioning this look; for her virtuoso technique, click style notes.  Click for StyleNotes →

Created by ARROJO master stylist Lina Arrojo, we adore this short and cascading shape. Cut short through the sides, the top is lengthy with lots of texture and movement. This creates versatility. The model could push it back, sweep to either side, spike up, or slick down. A classic wash and wear style for a girl about town. We love the shiny raven color touch too. Striking and reflective, it offers the perfect contrast to pale skin. For tips and tricks for styling similar shapes, click style notes.  Click for StyleNotes →
