As spring turns to summer, and with so much of America about to bathe in hot and humid air, the proud owners of wavy and curly hair are concerned with one thing only: fighting frizz. The reason is simple to understand, and requires the right styling regimen to fix. Textured tresses need the most moisture and in moist, humid weather strands expand, literally searching for the watery air because it contains the requisite moisture. But the right product cocktail and application gives coils hold and definition, shine and luster, and humidity defense –– so that cascading hairstyles retain shape and style all day, rather than expanding and frizzing and flying away. It’s easy if you know what to use and how to apply. For our recommendations, click style notes.

The ladies love a silver fox. We most notably appreciate Anderson Cooper, George Clooney, and Eric Dane. Now younger men are taking note of girls going gaga for grey. The newest trend in men’s hair styling is the tampering technique.  A new coloring trend –– it’s used to highlight and blend greys that are coming in prematurely for a refined and groomed look. Men are even tinting beards and eyebrows to achieve a gentlemanly finish. We love that the men are paying attention to color, but we don’t recommend them doing this at home. Be smart and speak with an expert colorist at a salon. To take note from the foxes that started the trend, click through to style notes. –– Michelle Rotbart
