These seductive rippling waves, seen at Diane von Furstenberg’s SS14 Show, were one of the hair highlights of Fashion Week. Luscious, shiny, and thick the center-part and waves is reminiscent of seventies style and offers the perfect urban alternative to the bigger, brasher beach waves that continue to dominate beauty trends. Fashion Week is like a two way street. From one direction come the collections; from the other come the celebrity sartorial queens. Sitting on the throne, Olivia Palermo was snapped as much as any runway show. She wore everything from graphic prints to fancy black and white, but the fishtail proved a bit of a staple. Worn with a center-part that features swooshing strands curving down the face-frame, we love the devil-may-care glamor of this look. We can’t get you Olivia’s wardrobe, but we can help you recreate her hairstyle; for our tips on this elegant braid, click style notes.

Michael Kors makes me feel adventurous; his 2014 Spring Ready-to-Wear collection inspired a sense of globe-trotting. The styles echoed with nostalgia for travel –– think full trousers and trenches, pencil skirts, and billowy kaftans. The pieces were beautifully wearable with intricate detailing, like the lovable python trims. With such wanderlust, what’s a girl-to do with her hair? According to Kors, throw it up in a romantic textured sexy updo. The models all wore easy, pinned up hair, as if done on-the-go, while running to catch the midnight train. Their messy tendrils framed their faces, highlighting eyes and cheekbones. Want to go on an unpredictable adventure? Or at least look like you are?
