It’s not a surprise that the New Girl with the posh name did the red carper strut with hair dressed in her now signature blunt bangs and tousled, voluminous waves. But that doesn’t alter the wonder of one of the best beauty looks of The Emmy’s. Full, deep-set bangs are great for Zooey as they spotlight her most beguiling feature: piercing blue eyes. Juicy waves that drape alluringly off the neck and shoulders, and shimmer with a few splashes of lighter, caramel brown, completes the hairstyle with a fancy finish. New York Designer Alisha Trimble set the trend for the Spring / Summer 2014 season. The collection, “Flower Fever, Night Power” proved that the age of The Bee Gees, ABBA, and Donna Summer could once again be fashionable. The line included pieces any disco queen would wear to the boogie––multi-colored chevron prints, embellished tops, braided accents, and lots of sequins.  The beauty look, featuring soft and feminine hair, was created by Pia Vivas and theARROJO Cosmetology team. According to Pia, her vision of italo-disco meets hippie was realized through braids, texture, flower crowns and even woven fabric trims from the clothes. We can’t wait to jive into this look. There’s something cozy about a thick, glossy bang. It looks great with thick fabrics and peeks out seductively under hats. It draws attention to the eyes and makes hair look fuller. But blunt fringes can also be hard to wear; the straight edge can overemphasize strong features and foreshorten wide faces. This thick but textured bang is the perfect solution. The shattered line softens and flatters while retaining internal weight. Embraced by trendsetters Hayden Panettiere, Kerry Washington and Sarah Hyland, this new frame is sure to be a big trend for fall. Read on for steps to achieving the becoming trend. –– Laura Martin
