herringbone

We’re always in search for the next best thing, especially in braids––we just can’t get enough. The latest IT braid is the herringbone, a reinterpretation of the popular fishtail braid, with a slightly more literal name. With her penchant for wearing old hollywood waves and beachy styles, Scarlett’s new cut took us by surprise. The short shape with its tightly tapered nape and long swingy front reminds us of the no-nonsense look worn by Robin Wright on House of Cards. The tabloids are crediting the chop to her pregnancy, but it could just be that she’s feeling powerful after her recent roles in Lucy, and as Natasha Romanoff, the Soviet spy. The macadamia is often used in sweet confections for its light yet buttery taste and soft warm color. Applying its hue to strands lends an understated, earthy decadence. Though the shade appears golden there’s very little yellow, instead khaki tones are blended with a touch of copper and brightened with ribbons of cream.
