When I think of half-up dos I usually picture the cascade of romantic curls one sees at weddings. But pinning back the strands that fall closest to the face can create a variety of looks. Slicked with gel the shape takes on an intriguing hybrid of toughness and femininity. Worn tousled and parted the shape feels gothic and grungy.
