When it comes to color nothing provides a wider array of inspiration than flowers. My mom’s birthday is the first day of spring and every year I send her flowers, not cut flowers, but seeds and bulbs for her garden. This year I sent nasturtiums. Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards gives young Hollywood a chance to practice their poses before heading off to the big time. On form last night, Zendaya Coleman in a frisky spring outfit and trend-triggering hairdo. Although the bob is the talk of the town, fashion’s undercurrent –– evidenced in editorials, ad campaigns and look books –– is drifting towards mod-inspired bowl cuts. Similar to a bob, but longer and rounded through the back, and usually paired with deliciously deep-set bangs, this retro look is modern again.
