fendi coverThe Fashion Kaiser has done it again. Karl Lagerfeld showed his first ever haute couture collection for Fendi and it wasn’t just the extravagance of the chinchilla, sable, and mink hair that had me enamored. The hair on the actual catwalkers caused a beauty stir. Locks were styled with a deep side-part and pinned back to frame the face with a wavy. The length was then secured with a low pony in the back, giving the illusion of shorter locks. In a runway-world of rumpled and meh hair, it’s exciting to see a return to such elegance. You may recall Marc Jacobs went for a similar proper lady look for the fall collections. My trend alert sense are certainly buzzing. Light red shades are a challenge. If they’re too soft they look washed out, but too much pigment and they end up looking dark or florescent. A perfectly balanced shade should appear almost luminescent, both bright and sheer, radiating soft light. This pale tangerine hue dotted with wisps of cotton-candy pink achieves the perfect balance. playful hair

Summer fashion is lighter, breezier and more playful than other seasons. Bold prints, bright colors and airy fabrics need just a touch of makeup—a swipe of bright shadow or a bright lip—and a quick, easy hairstyle. Tousled texture topped with an oversized bow, a high side ponytail, and knotted pigtails are three simple, delightful options. Click the style notes for step-by-step instructions for creating each look.

Hair masks are something I would typically recommend leaving to the weekends. The preparation for the mask, the set time, and the heaviness your hair may get afterwards is normally not ideal for weekdays. However, if your week has started off rough and you need a bit of relaxation, try this quick at home mask to reenergize you for the rest of the week. Click the notes for more. –– Kelly Rowe
