Alexa Chung is the face of Longchamp for another ad campaign. In this picture for their latest collaboration, Alexa brings New York fierce to the French fashion house. Though the jacket and the bag are hard to miss, we think the tousled bob steals the shot. Dancing imperfectly around her cheekbones and chin, and framing her eyes exquisitely, the style feels young and fresh, sumptuous and sophisticated. Pulling their panties up quick this year, the Calvin Klein brand recently released their spring/summer ad campaign. Melisa Goldie, CMO of Calvin Klein Inc, says the idea is to “create content that sparks and drives cultural conversation.” Bear witness, then, to Kendell Jenner and a bevy of beauties rolling round in their underwear. The thought-provoking shots employ the #mycalvins slogan with the call to action “I _________ in #mycalvins”. Dare to dream, folks.  Click for StyleNotes →

Vasilisa Pavlova stars in this new editorial from Harrods, the luxury retailer of Knightsbridge, London. Taking inspiration from the tough, devil-may-care attitude of the punk rock scene, in the images Vasilisa portrays a singer entering the stage. With looks from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Erdem, and Victoria Beckham, the mohawk hairstyle and dark lip complete a cool and gritty looking spread. An ear cuff seems like a daring accessory, something that feels rebellious and a little wild, but the adornment also lends itself well to more classic looks. As shown above, a cuff with a simple radial design adds a modern touch to old Hollywood waves. An ear cuff can make a simple updo look chic and fashion forward or give some drama to a casual side-part. Click the notes to see more examples of this trending accessory in action. –– Laura Martin

J.F. couture copy

The Paris couture shows are currently underway, and there is some seriously great hair. On one end there are twists and updos via Chanel and Dior, and on the other, to-die-for voluminous waves at Julien Fournie. The large barrel curls at this show embodied everything ‘70s glamour and for me were the real stars of the catwalk. I also loved the continued idea of tiaras at Elie Saab and the golden metal serpents slithering through the models tendrils at Valentino. Plenty of inspiration to last all season! So while some may think that couture is out-dated and has no place for the modern world…they haven’t seen this season’s collection or the don’t know great hair.  If you’re ready to find your next ‘do, click through to the notes to see some of my favorite styles from the Paris couture shows. –– Michelle Rotbart  Click for StyleNotes →
