Keep high protein for your diet and muscles not your hair. We always hear that protein is good for your hair because hair is made out protein, and while it is true you need protein to add strength too much can be horribly damaging. Extra protein can make the hair feel hard, tangly, and brittle. Keep protein packs to once a week.
Get steamy. When winter rolls around and your hair won’t do anything it’s most likely do to extreme dryness. No moisturizing treatment is going to do the good that steam can. Invest in a humidifier and run it all the time for luscious locks.
Wash your hair with bottled water or as close as you can get to it. Try washing your hair with bottled water just once and see and feel the difference. Clearly, this isn’t practical for everyday use so invest in a shower head water filter. Your hair will instantly shine more and be easier to style.
Don’t spray perfume into your hair. We all want our hair to smell nice but perfume made for your body is not the way to go about it. Here are some suggestions, buy products that you love the smell of, buy perfume made specifically for your strands or put a dime of favorite fragrance lotion into the ends of damp hair.
Brush before your shower. Hair is at its weakest when its wet, so if you go into the shower with tangles you are going to be struggling to get them out after and you are going to be pulling on weak wet hair. Get knots out before lathering up.
Spray bobby pins with hair spray. Bobby pins and hair pins can tend to feel like they don’t work as well as they should because they are constantly sliding out. Spray the pins with hairspray let them dry and have instant added grip.
