Pantone calls their Rose Quartz shade calming, persuasive and gentle. It’s certainly soft, but when applied to hair fibers instead of cloth, it feels a bit more playful and fashion forward. It’s a very feminine hue and I love the way it contrasts the bold geometry of the cut pictured above. If you’re looking for a hue that’s soft, feminine, and fashion forward, this soft pink is an excellent choice. Get the professional formula in the notes. — Laura Martin Click for StyleNotes →

This hue is inspired by half of the color duo Pantone chose for 2016’s color of the year: Rose Quartz & Serenity. (You can find the Rose Quartz Formulation here. This shade isn’t an exactly replica of Pantone’s color swatch, which is more sky-blue than periwinkle. Rather, this shade brings the feeling which that color captures, a calming, transcendent emotion that connects us with the sky. In clothing, a pastel blue evokes this mood, but in hair a cloud-like violet silver seems closer to the mark. Get the professional formula in the notes. –– Laura Martin Click for StyleNotes →
