There’s a lot to love about sixties style: fun prints, bold makeup and big hair are fun fashion statements that blend glamour and levity. Extreme proportions, wooly texture, and soft face framing pieces bring this retro style up to date. Try it on for a special night out or use it to add some playfulness to your daytime ensembles. It’s easy to create, learn how in the style notes. –– Laura Martin
Step: Start with clean, dry hair. Section of a 2-3” crescent from the front hairline, creating a bang section. Clip away.
Step: Beginning directly behind this section separate out a 1” thick strip of hair, mist with refinish and tease with a round paddle brush, roots to ends. Repeat across the entire top and sides of the head to the bottom of the crown.
Step: Lightly brush through the top surface of teased area to unify and smooth. Pull ends into a ponytail or wrap into a french twist.
Step: Release the bang section. Part on one side and backbrush lightly to create hold. Arrange over bouffant and anchor with holding spray.
