Long bangs have long been considered cool and sexy, but shorter bangs are more controversial. Bangs that hit above the brow open up the face, creating a more youthful appearance, which can be flatter but also sometimes reads as less sophisticated. However, I think short fringe is underrated; bad bangs are usually the result of poor execution. As Bella proves, short bangs can be just as appealing as long ones, they just have a different set of rules. Keep it soft… the edge, that is. Short bangs work better with a diffused line than bluntness. Piecey fringe also feels lighter so you won’t overheat summer weather.
Don’t be square… short bangs look their best when the line is angled or rounded. Bella’s bangs, which are slightly longer toward the corners provide a perfect example.
Light feels right… Even with a soft edge, you may need additional texturizing or layering to give you bangs the pricey weightless feeling Bella’s have. Your fringe should move easily, and separate naturally so that it looks good even when you’re sweating.
