Braids were big news at February’s New York Fashion Week, and with a week to go till it all starts again, Cheryl Fazio, Senior Stylist at ARROJO studio, NYC, is practicing a fun braided bun that she can take to the catwalks. For anyone who has still to get a cut or trim after letting in all hang loose in summer, this is a great way to keep hair off the face, beat flyaways and frizz. It’s also a super cute look, so check Cheryl’s Style Notes for an easy how-to…
Step: Prep hair with refinish dry shampoo to create a base with bulky texture and hold to support your style.
Step: Plait hair in a single, chunky, three strand braid at the nape. Secure with an elastic.
Step: Direct to the left and secure with a bobby pin half way down the braid
Step: Wrap across to the opposite direction, secure with a bobby pin and, depending on the length of your hair, work across to the opposite direction again and again (creating a zigzag pattern).
Step: Tuck the ends in to hide the elastic.
Step: Mist with holding spray to finish with support and shine.
