Sometimes our hair can start to look dull. Dull hair is normally the result of product buildup that even with our quick shampoo in the shower we cannot get out or really off of our strands. It’s the weekend so it’s the best time to try this deep clean at home while you have a few hours to yourself. Click the notes for more. –– Kelly Rowe
Pour some daily shampoo into your hand and add a pinch of baking soda to it. Mix the two together in your palm with a finger. Lather up and scrub, scrub, scrub your hair. Baking soda is great for deep cleaning but don’t over do it; you only need a tiny bit.
Rinse hair extra well and shampoo again with daily shampoo, this time without baking soda. Allow the shampoo to sit on your hair for 3 minutes after lathering. Rinse well.
Apply hair repair masque all over and comb through. Allow deep conditioner to sit on strands for 20 minutes.
Rinse hair completely with the coolest water you can tolerate. Ta-da! Fresh, shiny, healthy, and product free strands! Repeat this process every Sunday to start the week with light and airy locks.
While this is great for blondes who need some brightening, colored hair that is no longer fading, and virgin hair, it is not appropriate for freshly colored hair as it will cause quick loss of color.
