The perfect bun is a powerful thing––just recall all the great man buns posted last week. Ergo, whenever you see a great bun, whether a ballerina or a chic and low chignon, you take notice. So when I spotted Margot Robbie’s very cool half-bun at the premier of Z for Zachariah during this year’s Sundance Film Festival, I knew I’d found a winner. This bun is perfectly imperfect and it gave me a strong urge to swear off boring bedhead for good. . . .at least until next week. Step One: Mix three pumps of shine luxe oil with hair creme and apply a generous amount to the sides and top of hair.

Step Two: While casually blowdrying, use your fingers to rake through hair in an upwards and backwards motion.

Step Two: Once you’ve gotten a shiny yet soft feel, gather the crown of your hair into a mini topknot and secure in place with bobby pins, allowing the back section of hair to tumble down indiscriminately behind the ears.
