Unwashed hair sometimes gets a bad wrap for being less than perfect. Though we know freshly cleansed and conditioned hair has its place, we’re too busy to be bothered to wash it everyday; besides, infrequent washing is much better for your hair. Thus, we’re obsessed with dry shampoo and love wearing our textured second day hair. Best yet, we know some super cool styles that make the most of our less than squeaky clean locks. Muss It Up
Clean hair doesn’t have the same texture that dirty hair does which is why it’s nearly impossible to get that perfectly imperfect bed head we crave. Hair that is a bit gritty has much better grip and looks great tousled without looking overdone. Work through a dab of styling cream through hair and blast it with a blow dryer while rough tousling with hands for a sexy and bouncy look.
For a look of thick and dense texture spray second day hair with protective thickening lotion and use a curling wand to add movement and body to hair. Once finished, gently tousle hair with fingers and pulse in refinish dry shampoo. This works great for second day hair since it has a bit more hold and grip.
It’s extremely difficult to braid or style hair that has a slippery finish. Second day hair is definitely the best time to twine. Just pulse in dry shampoo into your roots, run a bit of product through the ends and create the braid of your dreams.
