Topknot

The two key elements needed to create the ultimate disheveled topknot is volume and texture—making your two secret weapons for mastering this look a comb & a texture spray.

To begin, your hair should not be squeaky clean as a little grit helps top knots stand tall; so forgo shampooing in favor of co-cleansing with Rogue, a non-foaming cleanser specially made to make second-day curly hair smoother, softer, and easier to work with.

Allow hair to air dry for natural texture and then spray Glint Texture & Shine Spray into the crown area. Gently tousle and scrunch hair to encourage curls to form.  Next, take your comb and tease the top section of your hair, as well as the hair that is going into the knot. The thicker the knot easier it will be to keep the bun standing up. After you wrap your knot, finish with another spritz of Glint for sparkle and reflexion. Finish with a mid-hold Holding Spray to support and hold.

Mini Buns

These thick heavy curls will be easier to work with after a good moisturizing cleanse. Use ReHab Shampoo to rehabilitate without weight or build up; follow with Submerge Conditioner to soften, moisturize, and detangle. Now you want to create plump curvy curls with a nice soft luster. Work Hypnotic Curl Calmer from roots to ends and diffuse the hair for maximum texture expansion.  Pull hair back, separate into two big buns, and tie off. Ruffle the roots and tousle the curls to encourage even more separation and expansion. Spritz Glint Texture & Shine Spray over the finished look for instant glitz.

Having a short cut with curly hair often means a strict defrizzing regimen to avoid puffy or frizzy tufts. Don’t fear — Elixir Defrizzing Gel will solve all your problems. Elixir uses a unique gelled oil formula to strengthen curls and beat away frizz without build-up or greasy residue. Work Elixir into hair immediately after washing by putting a generous amount of product evenly throughout hair before it dries. This will keep your short curls fierce and frizz-proof all day.

Half-Up Half-Down

It’s not only those with big thick curls that benefit from skipping the sudsy buildup and extra weight of too much shampoo in favor of a non-foaming cleanser; those with loose textures can use the same method to give their hair that perfectly imperfect, nonchalant and undone feeling that is right on trend. Use Rogue Co-Cleanse, a lather-free cleansing conditioner, to enhance wave and curl definition without stripping natural oils.

After going Rogue, towel-dry to damp, cocktail a dime-size of Elixir Defrizzing Gel with a quarter-size of Hypnotic Curl Calmer and work through hair, roots to ends.

Now, from tip to root, gently cup, squeeze and scrunch curls intermittently till dry, fostering a unified and radiant texture that looks and feels like you rolled out of bed with it looking that way. Pull the top section back and up, leaving the sides tumbling seductively all around clavicle, nape and shoulders. Finish with Glint Texture & Shine Spray for a sun-kissed finish.
