tousled

Back in 2010, Patty Stranger of The Millionaire Matchmaker announced that men don’t like girls with curly, wavy, or kinky hair, stating that texture “just looks messy.” She advised clients to flat-iron and thermally condition their natural locks to attract a mate. Her anti-curl politics caused riots among the wavy haired community––some even calling to boycott the show. In research, and –– most importantly –– in personal dating experience, men actually prefer tousled styles. According to work done by the dailymail.com, men claim to prefer women with “soft, natural, and touchable styles over groomed looks.” The study also says that 79 percent of men polled admitted to loving to run their fingers through a women’s locks. So the next time you’re headed for a date, put down the flat-iron and let your hair down; your strands will thank you and you’ll never look like you’re trying too hard to make a good first impression.
