Editorial Hair: Mullet 2012

BRUNETTE, COLOR, CUT, MEDIUM, NOTED, REAL WOMEN, SLEEK, STYLE

Today we are featuring editorial hairstyling by world-class stylists. This look is part of a new collection of cuts by master stylist, Lina Arrojo. Lina has worked with illustrious designers at New York Fashion Week, styled celebrities at the Sundance Film Festival, and as Creative Director at ARROJO, she invents new ways to cut and style hair. In short, if Lina is doing it today, the world will be doing it tomorrow.

Cut short at the front and sides and left long in back, this modern mullet has been created with juxtaposition –– a technique that uses combination scissor and razor cutting to create softness with structure. As everything eighties begins to reemerge on the style scene, this mullet is a great look for anyone that wants to keep lengthy strands, but are craving a new look with lots of attitude.

“Living in New York, we find inspiration on the street,” says Lina. “Fashionistas are bringing back the mullet, so I wanted a reinvention . Like the people who love to wear it, this look is bold and rebellious.”

Step: Use creme wax to create contrast, movement, separation.

Step: Add pomade for shine and definition.

Step: On days two to four, skip wet shampoo and use Refinish dry shampoo to add gritty texture.
