We’re delighted submissions continue to roll in from professionals all over the country because, after-all, it’s working stylists who are on the pulse of new trends, and are hearing first hand how the people want to dress their hair. This sensational knock-out look, sent in by world-renowned master stylist, Adam Federico, owner of the esteemed Sacramento-based salon, AJF, powers home the point. A bombshell long layer shape with swooshing and dramatic side-part and hints of autumnal ombre effects on the ends, what long-haired raven-head wouldn’t want to wear a gorgeous style like this? It’s beautiful yet cool; flirtatious, yet classy; textured, yet polished. For Adam’s own account of shaping this look, click style notes….

On Stacey, I created long fluid layers with elevation by utilizing the feather plier blade of the straight-edge razor. I love cutting long layers with the plier blade because it creates soft seamless movement within the hair, allowing strands to breathe and come to life. The hair was prepared with Shine Luxe Shampoo and Whipped Treatment. For styling, I used Protective Thickening Lotion and Volume Foam. After applying these products, I round brush set the hair and pinned each section into a barrel curl. Once all the hair was set, I sprayed it with Holding Spray and used my diffuser to set the Holding Spray into the hair. I released the set and broke it up with my hands, pushing it into the shape shown using instinct and an artistic eye. I love the romantic, tumbling texture and the peek-a-boo face-frame; it’s a glamorous look any client would love to wear.

Special Thanks to Adam Federico, owner of AJF, for this submission to Style Noted.
