festival pastels

Tomorrow marks the start of the biggest music festival in the United States, the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. What better way to celebrate than with weekend pastel hair? Whether you are headed to Sin City or have your own set list, this is a fun color change that you can do at home or on the road. Step: Pick up a Manic Panic or Special FX semi permanent shade in the dark version of the pastel color you want to try. Feel free to buy two shades if you want to mix them together.

Step: Shampoo your hair once with daily shampoo and ¼ teaspoon baking soda, then shampoo again with just daily shampoo.

Step: Mix a handful of whipped treatment with a tiny bit of your semi permanent color. Swirl in hands until you have the desired shade. Remember it’s going to wash out, so slightly darker than the shade you are actually looking for is perfectly ok.

Step: Apply the mix to towel dried hair. Allow the color to sit about 15 minutes before checking. To check remove some of the color with a dry towel, if the desired shade is reached rinse out with cool water, if not leave on and continue checking every 5 minutes. Do not shampoo this whipped treatment out just rinse well.
