Kerri Tanner from the The Strand Hair Studio, Saratoga Springs, NY, gave us this stunning, self-created, woven wave cascade, flowing beautifully to the side. We love the softness and the romanticism in this style. It looks tricky to do, but if you know how to braid, it’s easy to achieve. A super style for casual, summer vacation weekends away –– the soft braid keeps hair under control for adventures, and for days lying by the beach, while this texture creates a magical date night style.
Step: I used Volume Foam and Set and Style Spray before I blow dried hair. I blow-dried by tousling hair side to side with hands to create volume.
Step: I applied Thermal Protector before using hot tools. I curled her hair with a curling iron, brushed it out with paddle brush, left the front of her hair out, and did a slight tease to the side to secure a pony tail.
Step: Then I took sections from the front and braided them towards the side ponytail, secured the braids one at a time then pulled apart the braid to make it nice and loose looking.
Step: Once the shape was secured, I used a tail comb to creatively lift and piece and separate the look until I was happy with the aesthetic.
