Providing a dressy alternative to loose braids and messy topknots, this ebullient, sculptural updo is anything but nonchalant. Carefully hewn curls dust a smooth voluminous structure, speaking of elegance, refinement, and composition. This is hair dressed to impress. Despite its imposing finish this style is easy to replicate with the right tools and products; see how with our simple step by steps.
Step: Prep hair with a fine mist of protective thickening lotion, sprayed from roots to ends. Hit hair with a dryer to set, then curl the entire head with a large barrel curling iron. Allow to cool and brush through gently.
Step: Back brush hair beginning just below the crown and working forward, stopping about two inches from the hairline. Leaving out the hairline, brush the top surface of the hair smooth, retaining volume and secure into a low ponytail.
Step: Wrap the length of the ponytail into a roll and secure at the nape with bobby pins. Apply two to three pumps of shine spray to the remaining hair and separate as desired. Place the curls along the side of the head and around the face securing with holding spray and hairpins.
