This particular color was inspired by one of the students here at Arrojo Cosmetology School who recently had her hair dyed this ethereal verdigris shade. The popularity of pastel strands is an established trend, but each season new variations take center stage. This summer, extra-pale transparent hues bring whimsy and softness to pastels, taking them even lighter and softer than what we’ve seen in previous seasons. This delicate, barely-there, spring green is a perfect example; read on for the formula and tips to achieving this and other diaphanous hues. –– Laura Martin
Tips: Goldwell’s Oxycur Platin Ultra has gentle but powerful lightening action to lift strands to extra-pale blonde, use it for a root touch up if you’re already platinum or to go light for the first time. After lightening, tone strands with a pale ash blonde tinted with a drop of your favorite vibrant hue. The ash base will cut through any residual warmth and prevent over deposit, for a barely there, sheer shade.
