We’ve mostly seen the pastel trend in full head applications, but candy colors can also work beautifully as accent tones on natural shades. The look shown here blends rich mahogany brown and dusky mauve for a bespoke violet brown. It’s a bold look but not garish and offers a take on pastel that feels more mature and sophisticated than a full-head application. Application: Apply formula 1 in diagonal-back foiled sections, dropped about 1/4” away from the part line. Work in slices, spaced 1/2”-1” apart. For a bolder look, use 2 slices back to back before spacing. For a softer look, use individual slices. Apply formula 2 between foils, working root to end. Process 30 minutes or until foils have achieved an even pale yellow. Rinse between foils, remove foils and rinse again. Shampoo and towel dry. Apply formula 3 all over, focusing on lightened sections. Process 5-10 minutes, then rinse and condition.
