In January of last year I predicted the softening of bright shades from neon to grungy brights. This year I expect we’ll continue to see pastel and other fashion hues, but instead of single-color looks or rainbow effects, I think we’ll start seeing monochrome dimension. This look, spotted on the runway at Lanvin, features a blend of peach, rose gold, and soft coral, for a vibrant effect that’s dimensional and layered. The combination of colors lends a lived-in feeling and accentuates the disheveled and piece-y texture in the cut. Get the formulas and tips on application in the style notes. –– Laura Martin

Application: Apply formula 1 to root area, keeping color in the 1” closest to the scalp. Then, working in triangular sections, alternate formulas 1, 2 and 3, melting into the root area. Separate sections with saran or foil and process 30 minutes. Rinse separately before shampooing.

Formulas: (on natural level 7)
