Raw sugar has molasses in it, which lends the crystals a warm amber glow that’s a little peachy, a little golden, and a little ashy. To replicate the shade on your strands, a blend of bright highlights on the surface with darker blonde underneath gives a reflective, faceted shine. The balance of hues in this formula makes it work for a variety of skin tones. To give your blonde a sweet summer update, click through to the notes. –– Laura Martin
Application: Draw a line from the top of the crown to the top of each ear, separating from front to back, then divide each front section in half, tracing a line along the parietal ridge. Beginning in the back of the head, apply formula 1 in widely spaced weaves, through crown area. Move to the front of the head and foil alternating weaves and slices through sides and top, gradually increasing density of foils as you approach the front hairline. Apply formula 2 to all remaining hair, working between foils. Process 25 minutes, shampoo and towel dry. Apply formula 3 and process 5-10 minutes. Rinse and condition.
