Back in spring, when designers released their fall 2012 collections, this vibrant shade was all over the runways. Presently, it was named Color of the Year by Pantone, a company that specializes in color matching and trend forecasting. The tone is vibrant, cheerful, and exotic. We love it combined with soft makeup, and gentle waves pulled into a loose updo. If the hue is too much to wear as an all-over ‘do, it also works well as a highlight for an auburn shade, or as a dip-dyed accent for blondes.

Step:Ask your colorist for a vibrant, semi-permanent orange-red shade; or use hair chalk for a temporary version. Permanent color won’t be quite as vivid, but you could use it for a more natural looking version of the tone.
Step: To keep the color bright and fresh, you’ll need to minimize your shampooing. Use refinish dry shampoo to absorb excess oil and prolong the time between washes.
Step: To give a soft finish to such vibrant locks, use a liberal amount of hair crème, from roots to ends, on damp hair. Scrunch gently to bring out natural texture, and allow to air dry. Using your fingers, gently pull the hair into a loose knot at the nape and secure with bobby pins.
