We’re constantly looking for hair inspiration and recently came across a cool style called the cotton candy bun. It’s a great alternative to a regular topknot and, hey, we’re all braided out (until next week). And what better way to start the new season than with a totally cool new do? Click through to style notes to get the details of how to do this fun and flirty look. –– Michelle Rotbart
Step One: Start with a clean dry ponytail and spray with refinish. You want a lot of volume and texture for this look. Next use a comb to gently tease sections of the ponytail..
Step Two: Spray hair with primp and being to twist length into a high bun shape, pinning around the base as you go.
Step Three: Use a rat tail comb to gently pull at the bun while spraying in more primp. It’s a great technique to add volume and not crush your bun.
Step Four: If you want to add a little decoration to your do, use a ribbon or embroidery thread and bring it up around the front past your ears and cross it over the center. Then bring it back around and tie at the nape of your neck.
