Though we’re style aficionados most of the time, occasionally we’re guilty of being lazy and not wanting to put too much effort into a hairstyle, especially when the it’s too hot outside. But looking cool, modern, and chic during the humid summer days is easy thanks to the enduring top knot, a hairstyle that is still trending after at least three seasons in the spotlight. Currently our favorite top knot it textured, windblown, young and on edge. Click through to style notes to get the look and stay cool all summer. –– Michelle Rotbart
Step One: Pull entire length high up using a brush. Then, with the tip of the brush gently back brush hair. Spray in a few pulses of primp.
Step Two: Lightly brush the perimeter of hair and then use fingers to gather hair into a high ponytail. Use a bungee to loosely tie hair into a high ponytail.
Step Three: Once ponytail is secured, take the length and carefully wrap hair into a top knot. Use large pins to fasten bun in a loose way that isn’t forced or contrived.
Step Four: Use fingers to lightly pull out soft windblown pieces for a feminine yet rebellious edge. Spray with primp.
