Unlike clothing and makeup, changes to your haircut or color are fairly permanent, which means that while you may be able to change other parts of your look fairly easily to fit your mood or activities, it’s trickier to have hair that looks tame by day and wild by night, but it can be achieved with the right placement. The secret is placing the daring undercut or vibrant color on the underside of the hair so that it hides in natural fall and gets exposed with more dramatic styling. Cut: Shaved or disconnected areas that sit along the hairline are easily concealed for daytime wear. Keep placement below the parietal ridge with a top length that falls to the hairline for complete coverage.
Color: Place strips or panels of color in the lower layers of the hair, below the round of the head. Brighter versions of the base shade will virtually disappear, but contrasting tones may peak through slightly depending on haircut and density.
Styling: To conceal, wear hair down with minimal curl, using a part that doesn’t cut across the line of placement. To reveal, part hair dramatically, flip back into a pompadour, or pin up and back. Use fierce to hold in place.
