Spring is a great time to get romantic: put on some bright lipstick, tousle your hair, and add a big flirty bow. Bedhead is big this season, and it’s a great choice for the first warm days of spring when you’d rather be playing outside than fussing with your mane. The combination of wild texture with a refined bow works for styles both up and down. It could become your signature look. Click the style notes for step to creating it. –– Laura Martin
Step 1: Tousled hair works better on the second-day after washing. Gently brush through to remove and tangles and spray all over with refinish, paying special attention to the roots.
Step 2: Backbrush lightly with a round paddle to add volume and messiness. Do not smooth out before pinning into desired shape.
Step 3: Add a bow anywhere you wish, in fact, unexpected placement (for example in the fringe, or off to one side) enhances the playful feeling of this look. Use bobby pins to secure.
