Braided updos are a big trend for fall and provide a sturdy base for adding accessories. Twined looks for autumn feature classic three-strand weaves and a smooth finish, replacing the fishtails and wispy tendrils of the summer months with more solid construction. Adorned with feathers, jewels, and precious metals, braided wreaths and crowns have a majestic feeling. A necklace can be easily transformed into a headband for a quick dash of regality. Read on for simple steps to creating this resplendent style. –– Laura Martin
Step: Prep clean dry hair with a fine mist of healing oil which will reduce flyaways and add shine for an immaculate finish.
Step: Divide hair into two or more large sections. Braid each section and place as desired using bobby pins to secure your updo. For a classic milk made shape, divide hair down the center, braid each side and wrap up and over the head. For a variation, try 4 or 5 different braids and pin over the head at different points.
Step: Wrap a necklace or jeweled headband over the completed style. Use additional bobby pins to anchor it to the braids. Finish with a few pumps of holding spray.
