Summer fashion is lighter, breezier and more playful than other seasons. Bold prints, bright colors and airy fabrics need just a touch of makeup—a swipe of bright shadow or a bright lip—and a quick, easy hairstyle. Tousled texture topped with an oversized bow, a high side ponytail, and knotted pigtails are three simple, delightful options. Click the style notes for step-by-step instructions for creating each look.
Bow-Topped Tousle: (left) Mist clean, damp hair from roots to ends with wave mist to add beachy texture. Scrunch a small handful of cream whip into ends for moisture and style support. Part as desired and gently squeeze waves into shape. Air dry or diffuse. Wrap a wide ribbon or strip of fabric over hair, tying a large bow on top of the part line.
High Side Ponytail: (lower right) Massage a handful of styling whip into roots. Then scrunch a handful of curl definer in, focusing on ends. Diffuse or air dry for natural, wavy texture. Gather all hair in hands and pull into a high ponytail that sits above the parietal ridge and off to one side. Separate a small section from the pony and wrap around the base to cover the hair band, securing with a bobby pin. Spritz ponytail with refinish to add grit and volume.
Knotted Pigtails: Run a small handful of hair creme through clean, first or second day hair and brush through. Divide hair in center and pull into two high ponytails, one on each side of the head. Wrap the ends of each tail around the base repeatedly, forming tight buns. Secure with bobby pins and finish with holding spray.
