Cheryl Fazio, senior stylist at ARROJO NYC, is on the New York Fashion Week show circuit, and she’s been kind enough to share some ideas with us. “If you want to spice up your buns or do something different to your usual top knot,” she says, “this creative use of a fishtail braid is a great way to go. I took the inspiration from the runways and designed it so anyone can rock it in the everyday world.” For Cheryl’s step by step, click the Style Notes…
Step: Put hair in a ponytail. Split pony into two. Spray the two sections with a generous amount of holding spray.
Step: Fishtail braid both sections. Tie each one with a small rubber band at the bottom to hold in place.
Step: Rope the two sides together. When you get to the bottom, take off one of the rubber bands, and use it to tie the braids together.
Step: Wrap fishtail up and around like a bun. Pull and separate braid to make it look fuller. To secure, pin down at the base with bobby pins.
Step: Distress with dry shampoo if desired.
Special thanks to Cheryl Fazio for sharing her how-to and images with style noted.
