A soft shape and a touch of pastel color give definition and lightness to strong, bouncy curls. The shoulder length cut has a strong outline and long layers that create a slender, playful silhouette. Short pieces around the brow frame the face and eliminate the need for a part. The highlighted tips, applied to individual coils, create separation and show off texture. Step 1: Ask for a layered cut with high elevation and a strong outline. Talk with your stylist about customizing the short lengths around the face.
Step 2: Hand painted highlights toned with a light red, magenta, or copper will give your curls brightness. Only some of the coils should be lightened, the darker areas will provide the perception of separation and visual space.
Step 3: At home, style with shine luxe oil and curl definer. Mix a dab of each product in your fingers and pull through individual curls, twirling with fingers to refine texture. Add product as necessary and repeat all over.
