In the city that never sleeps, there is a renaissance of that much-loved old neighborhood standby: the barbershop. Authentic-looking barbershops –– done up with antique fixtures and fittings, vintage barbering chairs, and a bottle of bourbon on the counter –– are popping up all over the five boroughs, ushering in, with a Johnny Cash soundtrack, a new era of gentlemanly fashions. Ahead of the curve, ARROJO’s new collection, Control, is a bespoke example of modern men’s grooming.
“Control highlights the elevated barbering techniques that we champion and that will keep the craft fashionable for years to come,” says Paul Merritt, ARROJO Master Stylist and Cosmetology School and Barbering Academy Creative Director who conceptualized the Control collection at Nick Arrojo’s request.
Continues Paul: “Combining elevated barbering skills with many of the classic and creative trends and techniques that ARROJO is already renowned for, like texture and taper and freehand cutting, the Control collection was a means for us to push the envelope of modern men’s grooming.”
With the new barbering licensing curriculum now into its second year, Control’s sharp, square and lean shapes give bite to the brand’s entry into the men’s grooming market.
“Right now everyone is enjoying the barbering revival, says Nick Arrojo. “But like any industry, maintaining lasting appeal depends on constant innovation. We want to inspire the next generation of barbers to be inventive thinkers, cutting-edge craftsmen, masters of creativity. Control is a statement of what we think is cool.”
