Lauren Conrad sports this chic side pony with ombre adding special interest. Lauren wore this look while on her book tour, but for the regular girl about town, the side ponytail is a great idea when you need to change your look from day to night as it makes a striking change, and is quick and easy to do. Going from a rich mid-level brown to blonde, Lauren uses the dark to light hair coloring trend to create a contrast that lifts up her whole look.
Step: Notice the smooth texture of Lauren’s hair, and aim to recreate it. Start by applying styling whip roots to ends of damp hair.
Step: Blowdry with mid-size boar bristle round brush, the best brush to encourage smoothness. Starting at the roots, wind sections onto brush and blowdry through to ends on high heat.
Step: Create a side part and smooth hair so it hugs the head shape. Gather hair in the back, towards the long side of the part.
Step: Fix into a ponytail and swing alluringly over the shoulder.
