When it comes to men’s hair trends the looks are stronger and bolder than women’s styles. For ladies, wind blown texture provides a soft, ethereal finish. For men, wind-blown takes a different tone, with styles that are wildly tousled, as if thrown about by a hurricane. Learn to create this powerful texture in the style notes. –– Laura Martin
Step: This texture works best on a graduated or disconnected cut with tightly tapered sides and back and a long top and front. Shampoo, condition and towel dry thoroughly.
Step: Rub a nickel of texture paste between palms to emulsify and soften, then massage into hair from back to front, roots to ends.
Step: Blast roots while pulling taught with fingers to add lift. Tousle until all moisture is gone. Refine shape with fingers and spray with fierce to enhance texture and lock in shape.
