Soft, natural waves are a great low maintenance option for both genders. We’ve loved women in beachy texture for the last few seasons, and now men are embracing the look. Long hair on men is making a comeback, and loose, un-styled waves provide carefree, bad-boy texture. This look is easy to achieve with the right cut and a few simple tricks. Read the style notes for tips and product recommendations. — Laura Martin

Step: The most important thing for men with long hair is getting the right cut. Jagged edges and a loosely sketched, square shape will feel masculine and effortless. Layers are important; avoid one-length cuts.

Step: Choose products with light hold and a low sheen finish. Texture paste and hair creme are great options for wash and go styles. Use fingers to shake either or both through towel dried hair.

Step: Styling with fingers keeps things simple, and is easy to do. After product is applied, run finger through from roots to ends, pushing hair away from the face, especially around the front hairline. Create a messy, off-center part, and  scrunch ends to enhance natural movement, then allow to air dry.
