I’m sure you have heard regular trims and conditioning treatments are what keep your hair healthy, but have you ever thought burning it may be even more effective? Imagine your stylist taking an open flame to your hair to intentionally burn it. Scary right? This is one of those services I don’t know if I would be brave enough to get, but with gorgeous Victoria’s Secret models swearing by it and other pioneering services like Brazilian straightening coming from this country, maybe its worth a second look. Get the details of this hair scorching service in the notes. –– Kelly Rowe

Velaterapia is a process in which the hair is separated into small sections, twisted, and then put under a flame to burn off split ends and essentially “cauterize” the hair to keep moisture in. It takes about three hours, and those loyal to it get it done about every four months. It seems to leave you with incredible smoothness and shine, resembling hair product commercials. While I would be concerned that the integrity of the hair is compromised, results like this make it tempting to try. One thing for sure is do not try this at home! These videos show the service being done check it out.
