Making babies and appearing on Broadway, Michelle Williams has waned from the public eye since her pixie cut catapulted her to the top of the A-list. But she’s still collecting crumbs from Louis Vuitton and her new shoot for Elle UK gave her a chance to show off the latest designs from the French fashion house. We adore the platinum blonde hair color she sports here. Pairing it with an insouciant tousled sweep, the style has a sexy windswept vibe that suits the modern trend for the perfectly imperfect. Need a new hair color for spring? Learn about going dramatic platinum blonde in the style notes.

preenThe ‘70s were in full throttle at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi––the models not only donning groovy attire but some seriously big hair. According to style.com, the beauty team wanted to create a look somewhere between roller girl and full on Afro. Thinking less Farah Fawcett and more disco, the pros backstage used a rick-raking technique to style models’ curls before pinning, brushing straight, ironing and gelling them into a hair cloud. Phew! Could this be the next big thing? It’s not exactly the most wearable style, but anything with texture and curl is fine by me. Braids aren’t for bad girls? Forget what you knew about innocent pigtails, crowns, and Heidi on the mountain, braids are back, braids are bad, braids have a bitchin’ good time vibe. Recently spotted in London, model Isabeli Fontana donned a pair of inverted French braids and a vibrant purple lip, while model gal-pal Mary Charteris, got a little punk with a third plait on the crown of her head. And driving the trend on the runway, the girls at Custo Barcelona wore cool twists while the ladies walking for Zero + Maria Cornejo wore plaited mohawks. Still think plaits are for little girls? Click through to style notes for some inspiration; once you wear one of these, you’ll be the baddest chic around. –– Michelle Rotbart
