We’re crushing on this look because it sweeps hair away from the face so the attention is all on your visage, but your bun still sits atop your head with an interesting twist. The basic elements of this bun are a pony tail and a fishtail braid.  Give your basic top-knot style a relief and try this fun and quirky bun instead. Follow along for our steps to get this look.

We love a good makeover. Especially a movie montage makeover! It’s fun to reinvent yourself and try out new looks.  Seeing someone’s confidence grow because of a few changes is a treat. Check out the above clip of Anne Hathaway, as princess Mia getting a new style. We love her new demeanor. but we’re mad her stylist didn’t keep her awesome hair curly. –– Michelle Rotbart

If the arctic weather has given you a winter chill, we recommend you peruse Taylor Swift’s new style book. Taylor epitomizes this sensibility with her flowing, flyway hair, polychromatic outfits, and tasty pout. To see the full spread, click style notes.

Although it looks like an army of stylists worked day and night to achieve it, with the right products, tools, and techniques a similar style can be created at your vanity table.
