Prada’s newest collection is a visual representation of “RESIST.” Miuccia Prada created this collection for someone who wants to be active and present in today’s political climate. Prada tells Vogue, “I am suggesting militant women in a very practical way. Through clothes, which is what I do.”
This collection used the work of women cartoonists and manga artists- spanning from the 30’s to present day. Coats, jackets, and cropped pants were screen-printed flat so that the creases showed—a rough-and-ready analogue process deliberately dating back to the time before digital printing came along. We see comic-book inspired prints, lots of traditional-to-cartoon polka dots, and some new age animal prints in the mix.
Check out the empowering collection below.
Even if you can’t afford the Prada price tag it’s nice to know she’s Resisting!
