Beach wave is a term that’s been thrown around a lot in the last few years as a way to describe barely-there waves. Light as air, gently tousled texture can also work for stronger undulations. Soft, fluffy curls are delicate, breezy, spacious, touchable. Curly girls often stick to sleek, controlled styles for fear of frizz, but expanded, ruffled waves are beautiful. Using hydrating products and allowing the curls to dry completely before breaking them up will provide a perfectly mussed style that still looks polished. Step: Liberally spray damp hair with hydro mist. Apply a quarter sized dab of frizz control through ends and finish with a small quantity of curl definer scrunched into tips.

Step: Twist curls into tight coils and diffuse with medium heat until completely dry. Allow strands to cool.

Step: Slide fingers up under the curls, along the scalp. Gently work out through the strands, breaking up the coils and creating separation. Spray with a heavy mist or refinish dry shampoo, lifting sections to allow the product to penetrate more deeply into the hair.
